The University of California, Merced, in collaboration with the Oakdale Museum and Heritage Center, has begun a long-term project to provide access to CollectionSpace to the 13 museums of the Gold County Historical Museum Alliance, a collective of local museums and history centers along the Sierra Foothills and Central Valley.
CollectionSpace will also be used as a teaching tool for the newly developed World Heritage minor at UC-M. The project is led at UCM by Dr. Nicola Lercari, Assistant Professor of World Heritage and Marieka Arksey, a Ph.D. candidate in World Cultures and History; and by Barbara Torres, President of the Friends of Oakdale Heritage, an all-volunteer group which operates and maintains the Oakdale Museum and Heritage Center.
More information about Professor Lercari’s Heritage Interpretation Visualization and Experience (HIVE) Lab can be found via the HIVE website.
